We warmly remember the eventful annual meeting in Geneva.
On day one, we visited CERN and gained insight into particle physics research. In the evening, we enjoyed authentic Italian cuisine and good conversation.
On day two, we met for the General Assembly and two highly interesting lectures.
Prof. Dr. Clemens Ladenburger, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission’s Legal Service, gave an overview of the diverse range of activities carried out by the Legal Service – an impressive reflection of the dynamic developments in EU law.
This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Christian Schernitzky, Intellectual Property Officer at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in Geneva, who outlined two current WIPO agreements and reported first-hand on the successful treaty negotiations at international level.
At noon, we left Geneva for nearby Nyon and explored Château de Prangins. Later, we cruised back on a historic Belle Époque paddle wheel ship across Lake Geneva.
The annual meeting finished with a traditional Swiss dinner, which was also attended by numerous students currently studying in Geneva.
